Steps:
- Pick a motto and draw it or print it onto a piece of paper.
- Trace your motto onto fabric. Use a window as a light table.
- Put it in a hoop and stitch it using your favourite stitches. I like split stitch or backstitch stitch for text that has thick and thin lines. Chain stitch is also great for text.
- Cut out around your fabric with at least 1″ around finished size. Attach it to cardboard to create a magnet. Scroll down for photos of assembly.

If you don’t have a printer, lightly trace from a computer screen and then draw over it with pen. Then you can tape your pattern onto a window and trace it onto your fabric.





Use a gel pen to transfer the design onto black fabric.
